TU evaluation

This section provides a description of the implementation of my Teaching Unit, its results and evaluation. Below, you can find an infographic with the main ideas tackled.

Observing one’s rehearsal from a distant perspective is an outstanding resource to reflect upon one’s professional ability. Without doubt, having adopted the role of a spectator of my teaching practice has been highly beneficial to notice my strengths and weaknesses and thus to be able to guarantee an improvement and evolution in my figure as a teacher in the face of future practices. Throughout this section, I present a meta-reflection of my teaching performance, trying to be as impartial and objective as possible to examine the process of own development.

I propose to remind first that the main aim of my Teaching Unit was to teach the characteristics of Dalí’s painting style and the common techniques of Surrealism whilst providing an authentic context for communication in English to my learners. As Art grants unique opportunities to allow kids express themselves without any kind of restriction, throughout this project, I wanted my students to appreciate Art and talk about how feelings are elicited when they create a painting or when they see other’s artworks. It is well worth noting that the project was implemented with 5th graders from two parallel classes: A and B, which was a challenge for me from the very beginning because I did not know students from 5th A.
